Personalized Approach

Located in Crestwood, Kentucky, Vintage Base Camp is a family-owned business, focusing on the repair and restoration of Airstream trailers. Vintage Base Camp specializes in Airstreams from the 1940s through 1970s. Greg and Julie Penner are co-owners of the business. Greg has over 10 years of experience with repair and restoration of Airstream trailers and Julie brings over 15 years of business experience.

Greg has a true craftsman and artistic background. He holds a master’s degree in sculpture from the University of Cincinnati and applies his special talent with metal and woodworking to every project. Greg’s approach when restoring and updating vintage Airstream trailers is the marriage of old aesthetics and modern methods--form following function.

The devotion to Airstreams spans generations in the Penner family. They purchased their first family Airstream in 1997. Now Greg and Julie, along with Lucy, their nine-year-old daughter, are continuing this legacy, enjoying many adventures in their personal Airstream.

Vintage Base Camp is the first and only company in the state of Kentucky specializing in the repair and restoration of vintage and late-model Airstreams. Our home base is centrally located in Crestwood, Kentucky--only two or three hours from Columbus, Cincinnati, Nashville and Indianapolis. We approach every job, large or small,  with the highest standard of workmanship and craftsmanship. Our continuing goal is to set the repair and restoration bar.
